He began studying calligraphy at an early age. After watching an EXO performance in high school, he dreamed of joining a boy group, but his parents opposed it. As a result, he decided to major in Japanese at Southwest Minzu University after high school. He pursued his dream by becoming a trainee at ETM Academy.
