In pursuit of a well-rounded education, she studied psychology and social communication at the Pontifical Bolivarian University, later enrolling in acting school at Caracol Televisión. Her passion for the arts led her to study theater in Barcelona, Spain, and to improve her English in Australia. Her acting debut came in the telenovela La Diva in 2006, but she gained international fame for her role as Yésica Franco "La Diabla" in Sin senos no hay paraíso (2008–2009).
